I love seeing wild daffodils and here in Gloucestershire we have an area known as the Golden Triangle, where once they flowered so profusely, that they were picked commercially. Nowadays, they are less common, but fortunately there are still some areas where you can enjoy them.
A gorgeous spring flower and an inspirational quote.
Spotted the first ladybird of the year today – a Seven spot ladybird. We hardly saw any last year and as a result had so many aphids on the runner beans. I do hope this little lady survives and has lots of babies to eat the aphids!
Although we are just into autumn, now is the time to think about spring flowers in your garden. Daffodils, hyacinths, tulips and crocuses are widely available right now and will give you a stunning display for very little cost and effort. There is something quite uplifting about the thought that in a few months these lifeless, uninteresting shapes will herald the start of a new gardening year.
