I picked this little posy of flowers from my garden today. Whilst I expect the Helleborus (Christmas rose) and the Viburnum bodnantense ‘Dawn’ to be in flower at this time of year, the scabious, knautia and stocks are flowering outside of their normal flowering time due to the incredibly mild weather we have had recently.
Gorgeous autumnal colours in this bouquet of flowers.
Alliums are just so photogenic – even the seed heads and their shadows! This is the seed head of Allium christophii, previously featured here.
I love cutting flowers from the garden to bring into the house. I recently bought this cute little basket and bottles recently and decided to go with a purple colour theme of this arrangement, which includes Thalictrum, scabious, lavender, poppy, fennel, allium.
Picked a selection of old cottage garden favourites from my garden today – Aquilegas or Grannies Bonnets, Paeonies, Valerian and Cow Parsley. When looking for a suitable place to photograph them, I noticed the Green Man also wanted to get in on the act!
I love the seed heads of the giant alliums, they dry well and make an interesting indoor decoration throughout the winter months.
Picked these lovely flowers from my garden this morning, including Sweet box, hellebores, snowdrops and Viburnum Tinus. Most of these you would expect to see in flower at this time of year, but I didn’t expect to find live caterpillars or daisies on the lawn in February!
